Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using OpenYatra, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform. We may update these terms at any time with notice to registered users.
2. Platform Role
OpenYatra is a marketplace that connects travelers with trek operators and tourism service providers. We are not the service provider — we facilitate the booking between you and the operator. The operator is solely responsible for delivering the services described in their listing.
3. Bookings and Payments
Bookings are confirmed upon payment of the required deposit (typically 30% of the total). The full balance is due before departure as specified in your booking. Prices are in NPR unless stated otherwise. Platform fees of 10% apply to all bookings.
4. Cancellations
Cancellation policies vary by operator and are displayed on each listing. OpenYatra's platform fee is non-refundable once a booking is confirmed. Refunds from operators are subject to their individual policies.
5. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring you have valid travel documents, visas, permits, and appropriate insurance. You must provide accurate information when booking. Trekking involves inherent risks — you accept these risks by making a booking.
6. Supplier Responsibilities
Trek operators and suppliers must hold all required Nepal Tourism Board certifications and licenses. They are responsible for safety, accuracy of listing information, and fulfilling booked services as described.
7. Reviews
Reviews may only be submitted by travelers who have completed a verified booking. Fraudulent or defamatory reviews will be removed. OpenYatra does not edit or censor reviews, but may remove those that violate our community guidelines.
8. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Kathmandu, Nepal. For consumer disputes, we encourage resolution through our support team first.
