Booking

How do I book a trip?

Search or browse, open a listing, pick your dates and travellers, then confirm. You pay a 30% deposit to lock your booking and get instant confirmation.

Do I pay the full amount upfront?

No. A 30% deposit confirms your booking; the balance is due before departure (the exact date is shown on your booking).

Is my booking confirmed instantly?

Yes — once your deposit payment succeeds, your booking is confirmed immediately and you receive a confirmation by email.

Can I book for a group?

Yes. Set the number of travellers on the booking page and add each traveller's details. Group pricing applies automatically where the operator offers it.

Payments

Which payment methods are accepted?

Khalti, eSewa, Fonepay and ConnectIPS for Nepal, and Stripe / PayPal for international cards. All payments are processed securely by the gateway — we never store your card details.

When is the remaining balance due?

The balance is due before your departure date. You can pay it anytime from your account before then.

Is payment secure?

Yes. Payments are handled by certified gateways over encrypted connections. OpenYatra never sees or stores your full card or wallet credentials.

Cancellations & refunds

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, from your account. The refund amount depends on the operator's cancellation policy, which is shown on the listing and saved with your booking at the time you book.

How long do refunds take?

Approved refunds are processed back to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days depending on the gateway and your bank.

What if I have a problem with my trip?

Open a dispute from your booking and our team will mediate with the operator to reach a fair resolution.

Trust & safety

Are operators verified?

Every partner is identity- and licence-verified before they can publish. Look for the verified badge on listings and partner profiles.

Are reviews real?

Yes — only travellers with a completed booking can leave a review, so every rating comes from a real, paid trip.

For partners

How do I list my business?

Apply on the partner page, complete verification, then add your listings from the supplier dashboard. You can save drafts and publish when ready.

What does it cost?

Listing is free. OpenYatra takes a transparent commission only on confirmed bookings — no upfront or hidden fees.

When do I get paid?

Payouts are released to your registered bank account after the trip, tracked in your supplier dashboard.
