Platform Service Fee
The 10% platform service fee collected by OpenYatra is non-refundable once a booking is confirmed, regardless of cancellation reason. This fee covers payment processing, customer support, and platform maintenance.
Trek Package Refunds
Refunds for the trek package cost (excluding platform fee) are determined by the operator's cancellation policy, which is clearly displayed on each listing before booking. Common policies include: full refund 30+ days before departure, 50% refund 15–29 days before departure, and no refund within 14 days.
Operator Cancellation
If a trek operator cancels your booking, you are entitled to a full refund of all amounts paid including the platform fee. We will process this refund automatically within 5 business days of the cancellation.
Force Majeure
In cases of natural disasters, government travel bans, or other extraordinary circumstances beyond anyone's control, OpenYatra will work with operators to offer credits, date changes, or partial refunds on a case-by-case basis.
Refund Process
Refunds are returned to your original payment method. Khalti refunds typically take 3–5 business days. Card/Stripe refunds take 7–14 business days. Contact [email protected] with your booking reference to initiate a refund.
