Summit day — the hardest and best day of my life
Island Peak summit day started at 2 AM. By 8 AM I was on top at 6,189m. The fixed rope sections were technically demanding but the guide's preparation was thorough. EBC the day before gave perspective — looking DOWN at Base Camp from Island Peak is surreal. Sherpa Kingdom Treks knows Khumbu inside-out. Extraordinary 18 days.

Gokyo Ri panorama is better than Kala Patthar — fight me
My husband and I went back and forth between EBC and Gokyo, and I'm so glad we chose Gokyo. Standing on Gokyo Ri with all four 8,000m peaks visible — Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu — was extraordinary. The lakes change color throughout the day. Sherpa Kingdom Treks arranged everything perfectly, including same-day porter replacement when ours fell ill.
